The Nature Place
​Cook Position

Reports to: Head Chef

To further the mission of Colorado Outdoor Education Center by  providing quality meals to clients and guests who have reserved the conference center space to learn on site. ​

Essential Job Functions:
  • Prep and cook meals for clients including those with dietary restrictions
  • Wash and sanitize all used dishes
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Assist in maintaining a clean kitchen, sparkling dish ware, and a tidy dining area
Other Job Duties:
  • Foster a climate of cooperation and respect between coworkers and the extended organization's community
  • Assist with preparation and/or packing of snacks and cookouts when scheduled.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned

  • Adaptability & Flexibility
Physical Requirements of the Position:
  • Ability to spend 8hrs on your feet
  • Ability to lift 50lbs
  • Ability to navigate over uneven terrain
  • Shifts may vary and some include nights and weekends.

Qualifications: (Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience)
  • Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance
  • Excellent working knowledge of kitchen appliances, their operations and cooking methods
  •  Proven willingness to learn.
Compensation:
  • Meals on site during shift
  • $13.00-$14.00/Hr DOE
  • Salary Range in Compliance with CDLE Job Postings: $24,400-$29,000 USD/Year
  • A mountain life-style 6,000 Acres of land to hike and explore.
